What I’ve been blasting on my ipod lately
I saw the vid for Hey Monday’s ”How You Love Me Now” a while back and totally forgot about it until I saw again last week. Now I know all the lyrics and I ended up grabbing their album “Hold on Tight”, which is really good! Is it me or do rock bands always play the anti-prep in their videos? With the exception of Vampire Weekend who embraces the Preppy spirit, it seems like everyone else always plays the Goth kids etc. So in the vid for “How You Love Me Now” the band are the Cater Waiters and I guess Cassadee Pope is messing with the Preppy Jock guy. Anyway, I noticed that and then I was like I guess the Prep image doesn’t fit well with their suburban Emo image.
Hey Monday “How You Love Me Now”
I was listening to the new BEP album like two weekends ago, and I wasn’t really impressed with anything. I loved “Monkey Business” and the was truly a god album. “Elephunk was amazing as well, but this new stuff is kind of so-so to me. I was super shocked by one track and have been blasting it ever since I heard it. “Simple Little Melody” is simply swell and the third best track after “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling. ” The robotic sound and the sick beat is what keeps this song on repeat mode and it’s made it to my Summer ’09 playlist, I hope they release it a single.
I’ve already played this song out, but the vid which premiered yesterday made me love it again.

While driving around Friday my ipod died, so I was forced to listen to the radio. I heard “You Belong With Me” like a million times and I’m going is this on her album?! OMFG I love that song! It turns out the song is totally on “Fearless” and I hadn’t downloaded it. I saw post about it and the vid from my fav music blogs on Bloglovin, but I never checked it out. On top of that I acquired the album by downloading the tracks as they leaked on Ali’s Blog last year. Anyway, I have it now and it’s been on blast mode like three days! Love Dark Haired Bitch Version of Tay Swift!
I was taking a break at work and people always ask me what I’m listening to as if they would know when I tell then. So some loser asked me and I said “Hollywood Undead” knowing he wouldn’t know he they were, and he says “Hollywood Undead?… is that a group?” I rolled my eyes and said “yeah.” Anyway, I love them and this song, it’s like the ultimate fuck u haters song!

Everyone has that song that you hold dear when someone you love or trust lets you down, and this one is mine. Well at least one of them anyway. Tay Swift’s ability to sing live is getting better by the performance. Remember that horrible vocal performance of “Love Story” at the CMA’s? Yeah, well she topped that one with the semi-great performance. I think in a couple of years her vocals will be much stronger and congrats to her on her wins and may she have much more success!
